Are you interested in working with me on a cartoon or illustration project and curious about how the process works? Here’s a simple six-stage breakdown of the cartooning process…
Step 1: Get in touch
The first step of the process is to contact me and let me know your requirements. The more detail you can give me in your brief, the better.
Once we’re agreed on what it is you want, I’ll provide you with a quote. Once we’re both happy, you can hire me and we move onto step 2

Step 2: Book in with your deposit
I generally require a 50% deposit to begin work, with the remainder due on completion (see step 5)
For smaller projects, I may ask for 100% payment at the start. A time estimate for any sketches and completion will also be agreed here.
I accept PayPal and bank transfer and will confirm receipt of payment via email.

Step 3: Initial sketches & revisions
Initial ideas and concepts are then prepared and sent over to you in the agreed time, usually in the form of pencil sketches in an online working document.
From here you have the opportunity to make any necessary revisions or tweaks before we move on to the inking and colouring stages.

Step 4: Inking & colours
Once all pencil sketches have been approved, we move on to adding ink and colours! Small revisions can be made at this stage too.
However, after approval of the draft, any free revisions are restricted to colour changes only. These will also be added to your online document.

Step 5: Final payment
Once all colours and shades/details have been added and you approve of the design, the final payment is now required (unless you’ve already paid in full).
I’ll confirm receipt of payment with you via email.

Step 6: Artwork delivery
Final artwork files will then be sent to you in various digital formats – usually JPG, PNG and PDF but others are available on request.
These will usually be sent to you by email or via a download link if the files are too large.
And then we’re done!

Does all of this sound good?
