About this cartoon...
Here is a design for a vibrant and fun cartoon childcare logo design, complete with chunky rhino mascot characters!
My brief from the client was to have something fun and eye-catching, with large, friendly lettering and incorporating a pair of cute rhino cartoon mascot character designs.
Ideas for the cartoon childcare logo design
I first created a set of rough sketches for the logo design, experimenting with different layouts for the position and sizing of the rhino characters and the textual elements.
As much as possible, full-bodied mascot characters were requested. This would allow them to be used separately from the logo for additional usage, such as on social media posts or fun stickers for good behaviour.
Cartoon childcare logo design development
A fun, chunky typeface was also selected, both to reflect the nature of the business and the build of the rhino characters. The layout of the lettering was then adjusted to reflect a cartoon bouncy castle, with the characters bouncing on top.
To keep to a fun child theme and help reflect inclusion, the seven main letters in ‘Rhinos’ were coloured to contain each colour from the rainbow spectrum, a nice additional touch that the client appreciated.
As the development went on, we felt the inclusion of a large paint-splatter effect behind all of the elements would add another fun dimension to the logo, as well as aiding in making the elements stand out.
